Anti-Pattern
An anti-pattern is a common response to a problem that looks like a great idea but usually ends up making things worse. An anti-pattern doesn’t mean it will always fail, but it does mean it is higher risk and so you should be cautious when using it.
Conways Law
Conway's law is an adage that states organisations design systems that mirror their own communication structure. It is named after the computer programmer Melvin Conway, who introduced the idea in 1967. His original wording was:
“Any organization that designs a system (defined broadly) will produce a design whose structure is a copy of the organization's communication structure.”
Data Value Chain
Your data value chain is the steps data undergoes to move data from a data creator to a data consumer. You observe the system to see your data value chain.
It is a conceptual view of the process and is focussed on the system rather than the people who operate the system.

Systems Of Capture are the authoritative systems where data is initially created and maintained.
They are often referred to as Source Systems or Source Applications.
Data in Systems Of Capture may be created and maintained directly by users via a Graphical User Interface or by integration with other Systems of Capture.
